But little did I know, that search would lead me down a path that I never expected to take, and it all began with one fateful decision. So, sit back, relax, and let me take you on a ride through my content writing journey, and how it changed my life forever. 🙌

Beginnings & Faliures

So, picture this: I was scouring the internet trying to find ways to make some extra cash. I tried everything I could 😒 Made accounts on freelancing platforms, searched for remote jobs, and tried blogging. I even made a YouTube channel that failed terribly 🤯

After many failed attempts, I came to know about content writing through a family friend who was making a living out of it. She introduced me to the writing agency she was working for. In the beginning, I was reluctant to step into content writing.

Why? I did not know a single thing about writing except for the fact my English was good. Secondly, I did not know SEO or literally anything. Thirdly, I had no clue what it was, but I figured it was worth a shot. I mean, who doesn’t love making some money on the side, right? 🤑

How I got hired?

So I wrote a sample article of 500 words and that writing agency liked it. I was immediately hired and wrote 3000 words per day for the agency at the rate of peanuts 🥜 But that was still a lot for me because I didn’t know anything about how much a content writer can earn or my writing potential.

Then came the moment I have been waiting for the whole month. My first paycheck!!! Spent all of it buying gifts for my family and treating them to a big pizza party. (People who know me, know my brothers live on pizza and not on oxygen 😝)

The Competition I forgot about

On February 26th, I received a call that I won 3rd position in a writing competition held at 156 universities in Pakistan. Usually, I don’t attend calls from unknown numbers (sometimes from known numbers too 🤫) Like every Pakistani, I thought it was a fake call because I didn’t remember taking part in the competition.

Till the evening, results were officially announced I was absolutely over the moon! Who was happier than me? My family. They started getting congratulations and wishes from everyone in their contacts. 🤩

When I went to the award ceremony, I felt like a kid on Eid morning. I was so excited to receive my prize, but what happened next was even better 😌 The judges told my parents that they had done an incredible job raising me and that they could see a bright future for me in writing. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more proud than I did at that moment 🤗

Writing is My Passion

From that day on, I knew that writing wasn’t just a side hustle for me. It was a passion that I couldn’t ignore. I started to read different resources on writing that I could get my hands on, and I practiced every chance I got. I mean, I was determined to be the best darn content writer out there!

Now, I’m not going to lie to you. It wasn’t always easy. There were times when I doubted myself and wondered if I was ever going to make it 😥 But, every time I felt like giving up, I remembered that feeling of pride I felt in the eyes of my parents 💖

Fast forward to today, and I’m happy to say that I’m a successful content writer. I’ve worked with some amazing clients and even started my own blog. And you know what? I love it! 🤟 I wake up every morning excited to write and share my ideas with the world.

Ps: I won 1st position in the same competition next year. And my picture was put on the wall of achievers at my university. (Still can’t get over that 😅)
