Picture this — a not-so-beautiful bouquet, over two years old, and still living in my house rent-free. Crazy, right? You might be wondering how it’s managed to stick around for so long. 🤔
Well, I have a story about this bouquet that has also traveled 374 kilometers! 😵
No, the bouquet is not from ‘someone’ you are thinking. 😝
Who is this bouquet from?
I received this bouquet as part of the prize for winning my first writing competition, and it was gorgeous when I first got it. 😍But as time passed, the petals started to dry out and lose their vibrancy. 🥀
You would think that after a while, I would just throw it away, right? But here’s the twist — my mom wouldn’t let me! 😌
Why are we keeping this bouquet till now?
My mom was convinced that the bouquet represented all the hard work and dedication that went into winning the competition. 🥳 She carefully tended to it, replacing any wilted flowers and making sure it was always in the perfect spot. ✨
I mean, who knew that a bouquet could hold so much sentimental value?
To be honest, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride whenever I saw the bouquet. It was a reminder of my achievement, but more than that, it was a symbol of my mom’s unwavering support and pride in me. ❤
Ps: Relax, it doesn’t stink even after all these years 😂
And trust me, parents have their own ways of showing their pride in their kids. Some are vocal, while others may show their pride through their actions. My mom was definitely the latter, but her love and support meant more than any words ever could. 😍
Oh, and did I mention that the bouquet has become something of a legend in my house? 😂 Every time someone comes over, my mom proudly shows it off like it’s the crown jewel. It’s become such a conversation starter that I almost don’t want to get rid of it. 😉
How Parents Show Love…
But all joking aside, it just goes to show that sometimes the most unexpected things can hold the most meaning. 🥺Who would have thought that a wilted bouquet could bring so much pride and joy? 🍀
Ah, and let’s not forget about my dad’s reaction to the bouquet. At first, he couldn’t understand why we were keeping it around. 🥴 He would jokingly ask if we were trying to create a new species of flower that only blooms once every few years. 😂 We would all laugh and roll our eyes, but secretly, I think he was just as proud of my achievement as my mom was. 🥰
And you know what? Maybe my parents are onto something here. Maybe we should start a tradition of keeping around all the weird, quirky things that hold sentimental value. 🤭
Who knows, maybe one day we’ll have a whole house full of wilted bouquets and random trinkets. 🏆 It might be a little weird, but hey, it’s our family’s version of a treasure trove. And that’s what makes life interesting, right? 🌠
The Moments I will Treasure for Life
Looking back on this experience, makes me appreciate all the little things my parents have done over the years to show their support and love. 💖 From the embarrassing moments at my school plays to the late nights helping me with homework, they have always been there, cheering me on. 😇
So, to all the parents out there — thank you for being our biggest supporters, even when we may not realize it.
And to my mom, thank you for keeping that not-so-beautiful bouquet alive and for always believing in me. Who knows, maybe one day it’ll turn into a dried flower masterpiece! 😘
Until we meet again, ciao.
